In September happened something that shook my frenquently unorganized spiritual order and I was much closer to God than ever before.My mum´d already had serious health problems.She was operated on both hands.She went from one doctor to another for five years but all of them passed me on like a hot potato and in the end she found the educated experts on her own!

Finally, she found them about 130km away from the place where she lived.Not only did she find them but she also found the real interest in the human.They helped her to get ready for the difficult operation.I couldn´t go with her but as a nurse by profession, I was the most aware of the importance of this operation ( urostomy ) and I was overcome with fear.This kind of operation may take several hours ( about five hours ) and includes abdomen, small intestine and lower urinary tract.

In retrospect I think my prayer made much more contribution to my mum´s health.I was so glad to see her – already after few days – and at the same time it was so hard for me! When I saw her I found it difficult to restrain myself.I guess the life hardships are also neccessary because they purify you like steel and lead you to do good and although my prayers were solely focused on my mum´s healing I took notice of something else.They were changing especially me and my relationship to God and at the same time the Lord wiped away my tears and set my mind at ease.

After such a serious operation the doctors themselves couldn´t believe how quickly my mummy pulled herself together how her organism started working and how soon she began standing up.As for me, I knew the situation was serious but only the final report showed me HOW much it was grave.The report read: The probable loss of blood – 4.5 l !! It was only later on when my mum told me that the senior consultant´d trembled during the round and said they´d managed to localize the source of haemorrhage at last moment.

THANKS GOD FOR GIVING MY MOTHER BACK! I don´t want to put it in the sense of the businesslike equation: the praying person x God.He isn´t a manager nor a businessman and it doesn´t neccessarily mean that He has to answer our prayers or he´s going to answer them but it may happen in a different way.In my opinion it was especially about the great humility and trust in God.( I´ve put all my hope in the Lord, Salm 40, 1) This is the FIAT that uttered Our Lady.

We were dealing with urostomy trouble at home.I found out that I´d also had to pull myself together and in a way these circumstances´d scarred me for a life as well because it literally dawned on me how the patients were feeling in hospitals.This wasn´t just about the fact that they amputated or “cut them off“ something ( I say it in this manner on purpose so that you could realize that the patients´problems are played down very often ) removed or sewed.The patients often hear the following statements:“But every other person has it after all“ and “there are even worse things“.

This experience must have lead me to empathize more with people and it was actually sort of “transmitted experience“ because thanks to my mum I became stronger in faith and knew which steps needed to be taken.My mummy´ll be handiccaped for all her life but nowdays she leads much more full - valued life than all the five years ago.

I´d also like to add that everyone´s received his gifts.It was God who operated but He was present during the operation in spirit and He can bless this work.I wouldn´t like to disparage the human´s deeds.It was obvious that all the operating team´d been thoroughly prepared but at the same time they didn´t assume that my mum´s operation could have been so complicated.A lady who´d undergone the radiation treatment was operated before and her intestines were so weakened by the effect of this irradiation that it stood to reason that there would be some complications during and after the operation.However, nothing seemed to suggest that my mum´d have been the same case.Naturally the doctors assumed that an operation of every patient might have turned out to be complicated and that´s why everything was prepared in advance.

If we want to give of our own free will and out of love because WE WANT, we don´t count and “we don´t expect ( nor we do it because of it )it to return to us“ but the good multiplies and the other people´s welfare catches us and when I understood the circumstances of my mummy´s case, I shivered.She´s very gregarious and sociable and it weighed on her mind that she couldn´t help people in the way she wanted.She was a voluntary blood donor for ten years as she had the rare blood group A1B that only five percent of people have.Years later, she´d had a complicated operation and the blood ( from nine donors ) saved her life.

Even God himself can´t do anything without us! He gave us the freedom the key from inside door ( not from outside ) so, I think that the whole building up of the relationship and growth in faith is a COOPERATION.I´d like to press the point that we shouldn´t forget about that human part.Thanks to the greater awareness we may be able come nearer to our neighbour as well.Who is our neighbour? All the people after all.
