The first step
Nobody can force you to love God.I´ll love Him only when I truly and deeply experience that He loved me first.He still loves me independently of my anwswer.We love because God loved us first.
1 Jn, 4,19
In the past it was taught that we came into this world in order to love God, serve him and in this way be worthy of the eternal life.However, when we start right from the middle the Christianity has neither rhyme nor reason and The Good News sounds rather odd.Once you´ve come into this world and if you don´t want to end up in hell you´d better love God!
Other times we´ve started from the beginning after all but some cold rational reflection should lead us to love God:Look at all those things that God´s done for you and how much God´s Son has suffered for you.The only correct answer for such great love is love and that´s why it´s your duty to love God.Can´t you understand it?
I don´t know who was ever made to love by logical reflection? Love is awakened when you feel you´re loved and not when you´re pushed into the corner by logic.
And here we´re facing a great mystery.The human being´s real encounter with God always happens personally.It´s like the relation ME and YOU, in an unplanned and immediate way.For instance, you walk in the street and suddenly – perhaps for the first time – you´re capable of uttering:“Father, I love You“.And you know for sure you don´t talk in vain.And simultaneously you perceive you weren´t the first one to speak but you´ve just answered to the declaration of God´s love that God´s heart sents to you incessantly – only now there´s reception on your side!
Only then beginn the real relationship and Christian life.The Christianity isn´t ideology but the relationship and to become a true Christian doesn´t mean that you´re able to reel off the basic truths of faith and to be good but to be capable of pronouncing:“Abba, Father!“ in your heart and life through the Christ in the Holy Spirit. ( Unfortunately, it´s possible to like the religion all your life but not to live the relationship with God ).

My Lord, take away my stony heart and give me an heart of flesh.I wish I fell in love with you again at least by hint of that love that you feel towards me!
