The comparison of a man to the instrument in God´s hand.
A man is like the living chisel in God´s hand – He is the Creator.God is the only one who knows how to face the stone with the chisel so that a magnificent work of art may be created….A man is like the living chisel in God´s hand – He is the Creator.God is the only one who knows how to face the stone with the chisel so that a magnificent work of art may be created.God also knows how much he has to strike the chisel with the mallet so that the stone was faced in a right manner and the chisel wasn´t damaged.If a man – the chisel cooperates with God – Creator so a splendid work of art will be built ( the fulfilment of the meaning of human life ).However, if the chisel put up resistence in God´s hand and starts to do what it likes so it can damage itself or the stone irretrievably.God can´t face the stone without the chisel agreeing freely to be lead by Him.
The only solution is the humble return of the chisel to God´s hand.Nevertheless, first the chisel has to believe that only by subordinating itself to the affectionate hand of God – Creator is possible to create something although generally it doesn´t prove probable.Especially when we know that God´ll have to strike us a lot with the mallet so that he can make up for what we´ve ruined or neglected by our rebellion.If the rebellion was extensive so the stone ( the fulfilment of the meaning of our life ) or the chisel ( our mental or physical health ) may be damaged irreparably.Only God himself knows how the work of art, which he´s created, shall look like.That´s why it´s only Him who can repair the stone or chisel that was damaged by us ( but only with our free consent ) and bring the work of art to the successful end in the heaven.
